Goo Goo Dolls & Dashboard Confessional Deliver a Powerful Night on Northerly Island

Date: 8/13/25
Venue: Huntington Bank Pavilion At Northerly Island
Location: Chicago,Illinois
The Goo Goo Dolls put on an incredible show at Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on August 13 as part of their Summer Anthem Us Tour, and they absolutely delivered. Opening the night, Dashboard Confessional delivered a heartfelt and powerful set, warming up the crowd with emotional classics that hit just right and playing right at sunset, their emotional set matched perfectly with the glowing Chicago skyline and shimmering lakefront.
The Goo Goo Dolls followed with an awesome mix of old hits like “Iris,” “Slide,” and “Name,” and newer songs like “Nothing Lasts Forever,” showing they still know how to connect with fans, old and new. The band sounded amazing and clearly loved being on stage.
Every band member brought their A-game. The rhythm section was solid, the guitars were crisp, and the harmonies were spot-on. Johnny Rzeznik, the band’s lead singer and guitarist, was especially impressive—his vocals were strong and emotional, and his guitar playing was smooth and full of energy. He’s a true frontman who knows how to work a crowd and make every song feel personal.
The venue was beautiful, sitting right on the lake with views of the Chicago skyline-plus it’s just minutes from downtown, making it a perfect summer concert spot. If you're a fan of either band or just love good live music, you should definitely check them out on the Summer Anthem Tour. Both bands sounded amazing live, and it’s a show that’s well worth seeing.
